For individuals wanting to achieve fat loss, or indeed prevent fat gain, they must oxidise or use up as much fat as they consume. Consequently, increasing the contribution of fat oxidation to overall energy usage is key to maintaining or reducing weight through fat loss over time. This can obviously be done through exercise but as Western society now spends the majority of their time at rest, then how to achieve further fat oxidation whilst resting is also of great importance.
